JIm Beyer Remembrance

It is with great sorrow to announce the passing of EAA 80 member Jim Beyer.  He passed away doing what he loved on June 7 in Hinkley, Illinois.  Jim was a true professional and a giant of general aviation in the state of Nebraska.  He will be remembered for his service as a pilot in the USAF, founding member of Omaha’s own aviation STEM day, and countless hours of assisting fledgling pilots and aircraft builders with his exceptional aviation knowledge and background.  He will also be remembered for his efforts and backing of his youth build RV-12 project that kicked off high school aviation programs across the Omaha metro.

The men and women of EAA 80 will not forget your kindness and willingness to help wherever needed.

A Fly-in/Drive-in Celebration of Life will be held at Hinckley Airport beginning at 8:00 a.m. throughout the day on Saturday, August 2, 2025.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Aviation STEMaha EAA 80 Flight Training Scholarship, or EAA Ray Aviation Scholarship; all missions that were close to Jim’s heart.
